Overview

Christopher Renzulli is a Partner at Renzulli Law Firm and nationally recognized counsel to the firearms and sporting-goods industries. He represents domestic and international firearms and ammunition manufacturers, importers, distributors, retailers, and shooting ranges in complex litigation, regulatory matters, and risk-management counseling throughout the United States.

Mr. Renzulli has substantial experience defending product-liability, mass-tort, public-nuisance, and other high-exposure claims involving firearms and ammunition. He has successfully obtained dismissals for industry clients under the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act and has defended manufacturers, importers, distributors, and retailers against public-nuisance litigation brought by municipalities, local governments, and private organizations.

In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Renzulli advises firearms-industry clients on regulatory compliance, product warnings and literature, recalls and retrofits, contracts, manufacturer and distributor agreements, and liability waivers. He regularly counsels Federal Firearms Licensees regarding ATF compliance, recordkeeping, claims management, and insurance matters, and represents licensees in revocation proceedings across the country.

Mr. Renzulli also advises firearms and sporting-goods companies on protecting and enforcing their intellectual-property rights. His experience includes trademark, trade-name, and related infringement matters.

His shooting-range practice encompasses disputes involving range design and operation, errant projectiles, noise, personal injury, nuisance, and land-use conflicts. He represents ranges in actions brought by individuals, neighborhood associations, and governmental entities seeking injunctive relief, operational restrictions, closure, or monetary damages.

Beyond his firearms-industry practice, Mr. Renzulli has extensive experience handling complex product-liability and class-action litigation, insurance-coverage disputes, aviation claims, municipal liability, employment matters, false-arrest and defamation claims, sexual-misconduct litigation, construction and labor-law matters, dram-shop claims, and environmental and toxic-tort cases involving lead paint, asbestos, and talc.

Admitted to practice in New York and Connecticut, Mr. Renzulli represents clients in state and federal courts nationwide, including through pro hac vice admissions where appropriate. He has also handled appeals before state and federal appellate courts on a wide range of substantive and procedural issues.

Before joining Renzulli Law Firm, Mr. Renzulli served as in-house counsel to a major insurance brokerage firm in New York City. In that role, he handled insurance regulatory and coverage matters, drafted insurance policies and endorsements, and managed insurance-defense litigation. This experience gives him a practical understanding of the relationship among litigation strategy, insurance coverage, risk management, and business operations.
