Christopher Renzulli (Partner)
Christopher Renzulli is a Partner with Renzulli Law Firm. Mr. Renzulli’s practice concentrates on nationwide civil litigation and counseling with an emphasis on product liability, mass tort litigation, toxic tort matters, class actions, intellectual property and all aspects of insurance coverage disputes. His practice also focuses on the Firearms and Sporting Goods industries in many capacities, including the defense of product defect claims, preparation of product literature (as well as contracts, manufacturer and distributor agreements and liability waivers), managing recalls and retrofits, ATF compliance and all related issues affecting the Firearms and Sporting Goods industries. Mr. Renzulli is national counsel to domestic and foreign firearms and ammunition manufacturers, distributors, importers, ranges and retailers. He has extensive success obtaining dismissals for his clients throughout the country pursuant to the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act.
Mr. Renzulli has successfully defended firearms manufacturers, importers, distributors and retailers in firearms public nuisance litigation initiated by municipalities, local governments and private interest groups. He provides training and instruction to Federal Firearms Licensees on regulatory issues, including record-keeping and ATF compliance, claims management, insurance counseling and regularly defends Federal Firearm Licensees at revocation hearings nationally. Mr. Renzulli also provides services to protect the firearm industry’s valuable intellectual property and has experience prosecuting all forms of infringement, including various forms of trademark and trade name infringement.
Mr. Renzulli also has unique experience with shooting ranges and the defense of claims of improper design and usage leading to errant bullets, excessive noise, personal injury, nuisance, and a host of other charges by neighbors, neighborhood associations and local governments. These claims often seek injunctive relief, the closing of a range, changes to its operations or monetary relief.
Mr. Renzulli also has extensive experience defending class actions and claims involving aviation, municipal liability, employment, false arrest, defamation, sexual misconduct, construction/labor law, dram-shop liability, environmental toxic torts, lead-paint and asbestos and talc exposure.
Mr. Renzulli is licensed to practice law in New York and Connecticut, appears throughout the country in state and federal courts, and has appeared before numerous appellate courts throughout the country on a variety of issues. He also regularly appears in all New York state courts and also practices in state and federal courts throughout Connecticut.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Renzulli was in-house legal counsel with a major insurance brokerage firm in New York City handling all aspects of insurance regulatory and coverage issues, including the drafting of insurance policies and endorsements, as well as general insurance defense litigation.
Mr. Renzulli earned his B.A. from Pace University, majoring in English and Political Science and was invited to participate in, and completed, the Pace University Honors Program and Alpha Chi Honors Program. He earned his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law.
Mr. Renzulli is a member of the New York State and Connecticut Bar Associations, and is active in the Defense Research Institute (DRI), Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS), and the Defense Association of New York (DANY). He has also achieved Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory’s highest possible rating (“A-V Preeminent”) for legal ability and professional ethics (as rated by other lawyers and judges).
Mr. Renzulli is also very active in his community in Westchester County. He was previously on the Board of Directors and President of the New Castle Baseball and Softball Association and has participated in the Chappaqua Summer Scholarship Program. He has also been a coach in his town’s soccer, baseball and football programs and is presently on the Board of Directors of City Island Rowing. Mr. Renzulli is married to Kristen Renzulli, also an attorney, and has three children, Ryan, Nicole and Brielle.
