Scott C. Allan (Senior Associate)

Scott C. Allan is a Senior Associate with the Firm.  His practice areas include all aspects of civil defense litigation, at both the trial and appellate court levels.  Mr. Allan has substantial experience in the defense of firearm manufacturers, importers, distributors and retailers in nationwide litigation involving claims of public nuisance and negligent marketing and distribution, and has been actively involved in obtaining the dismissal of these types of cases pursuant to the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act.  He also has extensive experience in the defense of product liability cases.  In addition, Mr. Allan provides counseling to clients regarding compliance with regulatory issues, such as federal firearms laws and the Consumer Product Safety Act, as well as drafting instruction manuals and appropriate warnings for various products.

Mr. Allan received his B.A. cum laude from Manhattanville College, where he was a triple major in History, English and Legal Studies.  He then earned his J.D. magna cum laude from Pace University Law School, where he was a member of the Pace Law Review.  He is the author of People’s Rights Organization v. City of Columbus: The Sixth Circuit Shoots Down Another Unconstitutional Assault Weapons Ban, 20 Pace L. Rev. 433.  Prior to joining Renzulli Law Firm, LLP, Mr. Allan served as a Confidential Law Clerk for the Honorable John T. Elfvin, Senior United States District Judge, in the United States District Court for the Western District of New York.
 
Mr. Allan is admitted to practice in New York, Connecticut, Kentucky and the District of Columbia, as well as numerous federal courts.  He is a member of the District of Columbia Bar Association and the Kentucky Bar Association.
